PechaKucha Night Victoria
PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.
It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
We've partnered with the organizers to provide promotional materials, social media support, and as always, custom content development for the event. We'll also be a presenter in Volume 02.

Meet Tara
We had a great time hanging with our new friend Tara Tyreman - the brains behind
penandaquarius.ca and the artist responsible for the lovely poster for the Volume 02 event on May 27th. Consider this little video profile a primer on Tara and her work. She's one of the 13 upcoming presenters.
PKN Victoria Vol. 2 Poster Design Contest
As part of our partnership with Victoria's PechaKucha team, we've decided to start a few new "PechaKucha" traditions for Victoria's creative community. The first will be handing over the task of designing the next volume's poster to an up and coming local designer. PechaKucha has a history of producing some amazing design work from the close to 300 cities participating worldwide and we're sure Victoria is up for this so as contest rules go we'd like to keep this one pretty open.
